All within a day trip from our Lake Lure cabins! Waterfall Byway

Waterfall Byway passes some of the most pristine and scenic falls in North Carolina.

While there's plenty to explore, see and do in DuPont State Park ( first picture), Dry Falls (second pic.) allows you to completely walk beside and beneath the 75-foot waterfall.

Dry Falls is located just off U.S. 64 in the Nantahala National Forest. Nearby Waterfall Byway you'll also find Mountain Waters Scenic Byway. U.S 64 and NC 28 run directly through the Cullasaja Gorge, making this a prime location for waterfalls and incredible views. Flowing over a cliff, visitors to Dry Falls have the option to both view from afar or walk below.

While Dry Falls and Bridal Veil Falls are notable attractions on the Waterfall Byway, it doesn't just get that name from those two. There's plenty of other waterfalls in close proximity. Transylvania County is home to over 200 waterfalls alone. Nearby Dry Falls, you can reach Glen Falls, the swimming hole Bust Your Butt Falls, and Secret Falls.

Waterfall Byway begins at the intersection of U.S. 64 and N.C. 215 near Rosman and also passes through areas that are rich in Cherokee and early immigrant history. You'll travel west and cross the French Broad River and eventually end at Toxaway Falls.
